Plumbing Service Area in Hoffman Estates and Nearby

Hoffman Estates ZIP codes we cover

Hoffman Estates is a village in Cook County, about 25 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. We take calls for four ZIP codes: 60169, 60192, 60179 and 60195.

ZIP 60169 covers Village Hall and the Public Works Center. ZIP 60192 includes the Prairie Stone area and NOW Arena. ZIP 60195 is shared with Schaumburg, so a 60195 address can sit on either side of the village line. ZIP 60179 is also assigned to Hoffman Estates.

If you are not sure which village your street belongs to, just call. Dispatch checks the address before booking anything.

Why the address matters for plumbing

Hoffman Estates buys Lake Michigan water from Chicago, delivered through the Northwest Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency. The Village maintains the municipal sewer system and the water mains. Your responsibility starts at the house.

For sewer problems, that split matters. According to the Village, the homeowner is responsible for the sewer service line from the house up to and including the connection to the Village main. A backup caused by a clog inside your own line is yours to fix, so a plumber with a camera is usually the right first call. If the problem might be in the street, tell dispatch so they can point you to the Village as well.

Permits also follow the address. The Village Development Services office handles plumbing permits, and some jobs such as water heater work need an inspection. Ask dispatch about your job, or check with the Village office before work begins. Call (630) 822-9290 to start.

Plumbing in the Village must meet the Illinois Plumbing Code (77 Ill. Adm. Code 890), and according to IDPH the people doing it are licensed under 225 ILCS 320. Ask for the license number before anyone starts.

Schaumburg

Schaumburg shares a long boundary with Hoffman Estates, and the two are only a few miles apart. Our Schaumburg page covers ZIP 60193 and the other Schaumburg ZIP codes, with local details for homeowners there.

Nearby towns

Most calls come from Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg. We also take calls from Streamwood, Hanover Park, Roselle, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, Bartlett, Elgin and Barrington. Estimated drive times from Higgins Road run from about 15 minutes to Streamwood to about 20 minutes to Elgin.

Water sources differ across these towns. Barrington, for example, draws from its own wells, while most of the others buy Lake Michigan water. Tell dispatch your town when you call. For anything urgent, call now.
